I, literally – and I mean LITERALLY, punched the air and yelled "YES!" when you said Murray Gold! To lay my cards on the table, I am a Dudley Simpson Stan. Music should be interstitial and used sparingly like the herbs and spices to enhance "a well prepared meal". While Murray Gold has provided some of the best music in terms of leimotifs (11's "I am the Doctor" is an absolute banger); music drowning out what the actors are saying and some of his more overwrought, bordering on cheesy, music makes me roll my eyes. It's not the early 2000's anymore. Whatever evolution RTD has made since NuWho began, it's obvious Murray Gold is stuck back in 2010. And Gold being stuck threatens to negate RTD2's progress. Time to move on.
