After virtually blowing up my bathroom (read the instructions on compressed-gas sink plungers CAREFULLY) it took me a while to catch up and review the series finale. I try to answer the two questions that MUST be answered: how about that Clara resolution, and how about that Greatest Secret?
I like the catnip analogy. I think that sums things up well.
I really wish we hadn't rushed through River's storyline so hastily. If it weren't for the restraints of the real world, aging, schedules, etc., her story should have stretched out for years and across several regenerations.
I think this episode was Really Good Doctor Who. It might not be a personal favourite, but it is good-quality stuff.
(good luck with the bathroom.)
